Frequently asked questions
What is InPage encoding?
InPage (by Concept Software) stores Urdu text in a proprietary 8-bit font-based encoding instead of Unicode. Text copied from InPage looks like broken symbols in other programs. This converter maps every InPage character code to its correct Unicode Urdu equivalent, and back.
How do I convert text from InPage?
Select your text in InPage, press Ctrl+C, then paste it into the input box with direction set to InPage → Unicode. Conversion happens instantly. You can also upload a .txt file saved from InPage.
Will bold, italic and other formatting be preserved?
No. The converter transfers the text characters only. Font styles, sizes and layout from InPage are not carried over — reapply formatting in your target editor after conversion.
Why do Urdu digits appear in reverse order?
InPage stores Urdu digits in visual (right-to-left) order. Keep the “Fix Urdu digit order” option enabled and the converter will restore them to the correct logical order automatically.
Is my text uploaded to a server?
No. All conversion happens locally in your browser with JavaScript. Your text is never sent to or stored on any server.
